Brent Kimball, CFP® started in the financial industry over 35 years ago, and he was recently joined by his daughter, Katherine. The company was officially renamed Kimball Financial in 2018 to better reflect the family structure of the company and the mission to serve clients during the financial planning process through deep and meaningful relationships that last for generations. Both Brent and Katherine entered this business knowing that they can positively impact the lives in their communities. They work closely with their clients to create a customized financial strategy that fits their specific needs, providing them with comfort in knowing that the things that matter most will be protected, no matter what challenges life presents them. The Kimballs are privileged to have built a business in which they can teach people something new that may have a profound impact on their lives.
The Kimballs’ aspirations to help others extend into their personal lives as well. Both Katherine and Brent volunteer with the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation (MDRTF) and work frequently with non-profits, including the Alex’s Team Foundation, for which they both serve on the Board of Directors.
The main office is currently located in Pembroke, New Hampshire. The Kimball family has a long history of serving clients throughout New England.

Brent Kimball has over 35 years of experience in the industry (27 years as principal at A1 Freedom Financial ), his professional specialties include pensions, retirement, and estate planning for business owners, as well as retirees. Brent has a BA from Dartmouth College and Masters in Education from Harvard University. He is also a Certified Financial Planner and Investment Advisor Representative of GWN Securities, Inc. Brent is an instructor in the financial services industry for advanced business planning, retirement plans, and charitable giving. Brent was a realLIFEstories honoree of the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE), for his effort to raise awareness of the need for Americans to include insurance in their financial plans. Brent is a Past President of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation, which is The Premier Association of Financial Professionals, representing more than 38,000 members from 74 countries. The MDRT Foundation Board of Trustees directs the organizational growth of the MDRT Foundation, while carrying out the mission of increasing member and industry participation, and giving funds to worthwhile charitable organizations throughout the world. The MDRT Foundation’s global grant programs fund a diverse range of charitable organizations that serve children and youth, people with disabilities, the elderly and medical research. As Brent puts it, “I am proud to be a part of an organization that provides a unique charitable vehicle for members and industry leaders to make a lasting difference that spans the globe. I am looking forward to educating and motivating my fellow MDRT members to make impactful differences to those in need.”
While Brent remains an active member of the MDRT Foundation, he is also very active in local charities. He enjoys volunteering at Friends of Project Cope, and he donates blood at Boston’s Children’s Hospital every eight weeks. Brent won the MDRT Foundation’s Top Quality of Life Award for Alex’s Team Foundation, an organization he helped create, which provides grief support and training for nurses working in the pediatric oncology unit of Boston Children’s Hospital. In his free time, Brent is an avid skier. He also loves fishing, sailing, and spending time with his family.
Katherine M. Kimball
Katherine attended Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Business and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011. Inspired by her father, she entered this business knowing that she can positively impact the lives in her community. As Katie says, “I believe that when it comes to financial services, everyone deserves to work with someone they trust. It is my mission to build relationships with my clients, knowing that I truly have their best interests at heart. I have the ability to help protect my clients so that if/when an obstacle does arise, their lifestyle does not change. My clients and I work closely to create a customized financial strategy that fits their specific needs, providing them with comfort in knowing that the things that matter most to them will be protected, no matter what life may throw at them.”
Katherine specializes in coaching and educating her clients on their financial options, so that they can save and manage their money. She utilizes a unique approach to developing comprehensive strategies to protect, grow and preserve what matters most to each of her clients.
Katherine’s aspirations to help others extend into her personal life, as she frequently works with nonprofits, including the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, as a volunteer and The Alex’s Team Foundation, as Vice President on the Board of Directors. Katherine lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts. As a lover of the outdoors, Katherine can often be found on the slopes of the White Mountains or sailing. She also enjoys travelling, running Spartan Sprints at Fenway, and supporting local sports teams.
